I have the most adorable puppy from HELL. Until I got this music CD, I wasted a lot of time trying to settle him down. Now I have peace of mind and quiet most of the day.

Grouch was
a rescue bird. 20 years ago my husband John (then my boyfriend)
lost his father to a heart attack. His father left behind his
pet parrot. The family was sharing the responsibility of taking
care of the bird. One day John was cleaning the birds cage outside
when his grandparents pulled up. John went to help them out of
the car, left the cage open by mistake, and the parrot escaped. The
family was distraught. John's sister put an ad in the paper and
plastered the town with signs, "LOST, MAX THE PARROT". They started
to get phone calls. People called to tell them they had a parrot
out on their porch. Three times they responded to these calls
only to find that the parrots were not Max. Max was never found
but one of these birds was Grouch. The people whose porch he
had landed on did not want him so I adopted him. I lived in NYC
at the time and he came and lived in my apartment with me. He
learned how to say "Hello" quickly (or perhaps he already knew
that word), but he never really became fluent in English. He
has been a screamer right from the start. I remember walking
home to my apartment after work and I would hear and recognize
his scream from several blocks away. When I first became a veterinarian
in Plattsburgh, NY, I lived in a condo and the neighbors couldn't
take the noise and so he had to live with my parents in Vermont
for a couple of years. My father finally banned him from the
house because of his screaming and he lives again with me in
Merrimack (NH). My neighbors occasionally yell profanities out
of their windows when Grouch wakes them up (screaming) on Sunday
mornings. I have tried music to distract him. I have found that
certain types of music make him excited and he seems to want
to sing along. I think he likes it but he is still noisy. However,
to my amazement, he is quiet when I play the "Doggie Classical" CD.
It seems to soothe him and I am grateful to have found something
(besides food) to keep him quiet and calm.
Thanks
again Judy, Margaret Monachelli, D.V.M.
Dear Doggie
Diva:
I just wanted
to thank you for putting together such a great selection of music. I'm
a rescue dog and although I have lived with my Mom for over a
year, I'm still a little skittish. They
have been doing construction at our Condominium complex for over
a year now and I can't stand the noise, especially those jack
hammers. They really hurt my ears. I used to find comfort in
my crate, although I was shaking, I knew it was a safe place.
My mom heard
about Doggie Classical and thought she would give that a try.
She hated watching me be so upset and nervous. When she first
put it on, I didn't know what it was, such calming music was
being played in my home. After a little while, I stopped shaking
(this made mom really happy) and then I decided that I didn't
need to be in my crate anymore, so I decided to sprawl out on
the couch and enjoy the music (even though I knew the jack hammer
was still going, it didn't seem to bother me so much).
Thanks for
caring about animals and creating such a wonderful product. I'm
going to tell all my friends to get their Moms and Dads to buy
them one too. In our language, we really do communicate! Thanks
again!
All my best,
Midnight
Hi Judy,
I purchased the "Doggie Classical" CD in May 2006 and would like
to share with you how it has changed my cat, Emma’s life. In Emma’s
eight years, she has had three different owners and has moved three times with
me, her current owner. Every move was the same with Emma showing signs of distress
as she would climb to the top of the kitchen cupboards and would stay there for
a week or two. I feel this has added additional stress to her life.It was the
first day in our new home and once again Emma started to do the same thing: she
stationed herself on top of the kitchen cupboards. It was obvious that Emma was
a bit stressed with my recent move, and with everything still in boxes, the "Doggie
Classical" CD could not be played at this time. It was the next day that I unpacked
the "Doggie Classical" CD and played it for her. She came right down form her
perch and was behaving much less cautiously. IT WAS LIKE MAGIC! Emma was happy,
playful and seemed to immediately accept the new home as her own. The music is
very calming, soothing and I enjoy it too!I can not believe how the "Doggie Classical" CD
has brought love and happiness to my home, thank you so much!

I
just wanted to thank you for the CD “Doggie Classical” that
you gave me. You will never believe how it’s
being used!
I have a wonderful pet guinea pig named Dexter. He’s almost 6 ½ years
old and I just adore him. About a month ago, I noticed that he
wasn’t eating or drinking and wasn’t his usual
perky self. Devastated, I took him to my vet expecting that she would put him down. She
couldn’t determine the cause of his sickness, whether
it was an infection or the start of his body shutting down
[guinea pigs have a life span from only 5-7 years]. She
gave him antibiotics and nicely suggested that I keep him comfortable
and give him plenty of love as she wasn’t sure how much
time he had left.
By syringe, I fed him baby food and critical care formula several times a day. I kept him in a separate room and, lovingly,
provided what I called “cavy hospice care”. One day, I wanted to make sure Dexter was calm as well as comfortable so I brought in my CD player and put it near his cage. I put on the “Doggie Classical” CD
and played it low over and over again. I thought he could use some soothing, relaxing music to help in his recovery.
Well,
I’m happy to report that it’s now been 1 month since
the vet visit and Dexter is eating and drinking on his own! He’s slowly regaining his spunk and I couldn’t
be more thrilled! I continue to play the music for him not only for a form of company but for relaxation as well. I know it helped him and I want him to continue to thrive.
Again, I want to thank you for giving me the CD and Dexter thanks you as well!
